Agriculture Project Manager

Kansas Smith Farms is looking for a Project Manager for an operation in southwest Kansas. The person in this position will spend 60% of time starting and setting-up innovative projects with other farm employees in the field. Farm projects could range from new production process to use of technology to optimize current processes. This person will be developing innovative ideas, working with employees about new projects, getting feedback, checking on projects, and gathering accurate results on projects. The other 40% of time will be in the office compiling results, researching new ideas, communicating with management team about results and brainstorming with team about new projects. This person will need a drive for continual improvement of people, pigs and bottom line through new projects and implementing successful projects throughout system while looking for ways to make changes to improve efficiencies and effectiveness. This person will be required to live in southwest Kansas and be willing to travel out of state about 20% of the time.
Qualifications:
Management/leadership experience preferred
Proven track record of previous success and commitment
Conversational Spanish needed at minimum, bilingual preferred
Bachelor Degree in Ag/Science Related
Basic understanding of swine production from breeding, farrowing, nursery to finishing

years of experience in swine and/or production agriculture business
Ability to work independently and as a team, flexible, able to change gear quickly, but remain focused on the future
Instill confidence in the project and encourage employee's capabilities in believing it can be achieved
Likable, personable, and lighthearted personality
Salary: 100% based on experience

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
